About

Our Operations/Departmental Manager programme is designed to equip managers with the knowledge and skills needed to manage staff, resources, finance, recruitment, information and operations. They will develop project management skills and learn to develop themselves professionally. Throughout the programme, they will be supported by a course mentor who will give them the knowledge and skills that they need as a senior manager. This is a 20-month programme leading to an endpoint assessment of a portfolio, a project and a presentation.

Course Overview

This comprehensive course is designed for those aiming to excel in operations or departmental management across various sectors, including private, public, and voluntary. It prepares you to manage teams and projects effectively, align with organisational strategic objectives, and take on key roles such as Operations Manager, Regional Manager, or Department Manager. The curriculum covers various topics, from project management and team leadership to adapting to change and managing finances and resources. You'll also learn about talent management, coaching, and mentoring techniques. By the end of the course, you'll possess the essential knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to implement operational or departmental strategies and lead robust teams, positioning you for success in dynamic managerial roles.

Cost and Funding

The funding limit set for this qualification is £7000. This can be fully funded through the Apprenticeship Levy. For Non-Levy payers, it is fully funded for anyone under 22 years of age and up to 95% government-funded for anyone aged 22+

Professional Recognition

Operations Manager Apprenticeship Certificate. Full members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership and Management. Those with 3 years of management experience can apply for Chartered Manager status through the CMI.

Funding

Apprenticeship Levy paying employers can use their funds for this programme. Employers not paying the Levy can get up to 95% funding.
